International Popup Forest in New York
International Pop up Forest New York
To coincide with the UN General Assembly in New York, we worked on a project in September for Project Everyone along with Es Devlin and Philip Jaffa to raise awareness of The Global Goals.
Having designed similar forests for the Forest for Change at Somerset house, Es Devlin’s goal was to deliver a natural environment and raise awareness and importance of the trees themselves and the valuable role that trees play in global sustainability.

Materials Supply and Logistics
With previous experience of such briefs, Project Everyone requested my services to act as a consultant on selecting the correct contractor in the USA, to guide and manage the budget, project manage the install logistics from planning to execution, and to work closely with the lead Designer or ‘Forest Architect’ Philip Jaffa of Scape Design on implementing the design vision.
Works were carried out over two stateside visits. The first was to review US nurseries and tag trees with Philip Jaffa and the second was to fine-tune the tree tagging and execute the works on site across 6 days of installation time.
More Details
The overall project was a major success with politicians from around the world in attendance, the UN Secretary General and a host of celebrities, who admired and strove to highlight the awareness of climate change and Project Everyone’s Global Goals.
This is a huge professional success too a great chance to replicate our excellent logistical skills on the other side of the pond. Thank you Project Everyone and Scotscape for requesting our consultancy services.
As with all projects like this, Project Everyone pride themselves (as do we) on ensuring that any materials used have a legacy story. In this case, all trees and shrubs were donated to the NY Restoration Project where they are set to utilise the materials over the dormant winter months across the NY states. In addition, all mulch used was re-spread across the grounds at the UN and the timber support framing was also reused within the landscaping industry in the states.
